چکیده

Microplastics with particle size less than 5 mm are becoming a raising global environmental crisis. These pollutants were found from the poles to equator, in continental shelves, coasts and oceans, moreover, they have also been identified water columns, sediments even variety of organisms. The majority microplastics that ended up oceans originate land. Due their small size, easily accumulated food chain, causing harmful effects on organisms human health. bivalves especially caught interest scientific researchers because direct contact through filter-feeding habit. Therefore, it is essential develop methods determine presence these identify source. This study evaluated efficiency extracting tissues green mussels (Perna viridis) using KOH 10% solution digest KI 50% as separating solution. Mussel soft tissue samples spiked five different types microplastics: polystyrene (PS), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polypropylene (PP), high-density (HDPE) treated some mussel species was investigated farming areas Giao Thuy, Nam Dinh province, Thi Nai, Quy Nhon, Binh province Hue city, Thua Thien province. research results showed high microplastic extraction recovery range 76% 97%. Microplastic concentration obtained all variates 1.0 ± 0.1 particles/g 1.7 0.6 particles/g, which fiber predominated. sizes < 1,000 µm 1,000–2,000 µm, make 74.15–82.32% 9.76–14.71%, respectively. Purple dominant among samples. proved isolate suitable approach can be used monitoring studies pollution bivalves.

assessment of the efficiency of s.p.g.c refineries using network dea

data envelopment analysis (dea) is a powerful tool for measuring relative efficiency of organizational units referred to as decision making units (dmus). in most cases dmus have network structures with internal linking activities. traditional dea models, however, consider dmus as black boxes with no regard to their linking activities and therefore do not provide decision makers with the reasons...

Toxicity Profile of a Nutraceutical Formulation Derived from Green Mussel Perna viridis

The short-term (acute) and long-term (subchronic) toxicity profile, mean lethal dose 50 (LD50), and no-observed-adverse-effect level (NOAEL) of a nutraceutical formulation developed from green mussel Perna viridis, which showed in vitro and in vivo anti-inflammatory properties, were evaluated in the present study. The formulation was administered to the male and female Wistar rats at graded dos...

Subcellular controls of silver biokinetics in the green mussel Perna viridis from two hydrographic zones

The roles of subcellular distribution on silver (Ag) accumulation and elimination in the green mussel Perna viridis collected from 2 hydrographical zones (harbour vs. estuarine) in Hong Kong during 3 different seasons were investigated. Ag concentration and biokinetics varied widely between the 2 zones, but were less variable among the different seasons (pre-wet, wet and dry). The harbour popul...

Antimicrobial Activity from the Gill Extraction of Perna viridis (Linnaeus, 1758)

Molluscs are highly delicious seafood and they are also very good source for biomedically imported products. Among the molluscs some have pronounced pharmacological activities or other properties which are useful in the biomedical area. In the present study antimicrobial activity of gill extraction of Perna viridis was investigated. In antibacterial activity the maximum zone of inhibition (19 m...

Modeling of cadmium bioaccumulation in two populations of the green mussel Perna viridis.

This study attempted to quantify differences in Cd biokinetics from two populations of green mussels (Perna viridis) from two sites (eastern and western) in Hong Kong with contrasting hydrological conditions. Body Cd concentrations were modeled using a simple biokinetic model coupled with measurements of dissolved Cd concentrations at each site. Mussels collected from the western site had three...
